This song was written by my father, Julian Leith, who was taken before his time in September 2015.
He wrote the melody earlier in the year, but it wasn't until after he was diagnosed with inoperable esophageal cancer that he found what he wanted to say through the song. He penned the lyrics in his room in the Royal Victoria hospital in Belfast, and during his last months at home, with his family, he taught me how to play it.
"Play this for people when I'm gone" he asked me.
I played it for everyone at his funeral, and now, on father's day 2016, I have uploaded this recording of the song for anyone that would like it.
